Debt‐Free Associate Degree Program Questions

What does “debt‐free degree” mean?

The Debt-Free Associate Degree Program is an online degree program funded by Avolta for our employees through our partnership with Pearson. This is an opportunity to pursue an Associate Degree of your choice through an undergraduate online degree program offered through a regionally accredited college partner of Pearson in the US.

"Debt-Free" applies to individuals who would not need to take federal or private loans to pay for tuition, fees, books or course materials in connection with their enrollment. To qualify for the Debt-Free Associate Degree, Students need to:

Follow all program terms, conditions and guidelines;
Complete all School required paperwork;
Send all requested documentation relating to prior coursework and transcripts to the School;
Follow all terms and conditions for eligibility in the TAP Into Your Potential policy, including satisfaction of grade criteria for each course.

I attended college in the past and earned college credit. Can I transfer college credit into this program?

Once you input your information through the inquiry form, a Pearson Advisor will help guide you through the enrollment process. Your prior college experience will be taken into consideration once your transcripts are received and evaluated by the institution. If eligible, prior learning credit will be granted for courses that articulate into the degree program.

College Advising and Degree Completion Questions

What are the Central Registrar’s Office and Global Digital Classroom?

Pearson’s agnostic advising and degree completion plan services are supported by teams located in Pearson’s Central Registrar’s Office®.

Along with the Global Digital Classroom®, which contains thousands of different courses, advisors from the Central Registrar’s office are able to customize course-by-course degree plans.

Degree plans take into account the learning styles, goals, available time, budget, tuition reimbursement, major, and other important life situations.

Courses are part of a transcript, which is transferable to over 1,500 colleges and universities.

Students can earn up to 90 credits through Pearson’s Global Digital Classroom® before transferring to the college of their choice for final degree completion.

Tuition Reimbursement Program Questions

What is the tuition reimbursement program?

For eligible employees already enrolled in college or other programs, you can receive up to $5,250 a year in tuition reimbursement. Grades and proof of payment are sent directly to Pearson by clicking on the TAP Logo on Dufry Connect, or directly via: Tuition.io. Your eligible expenses are then reimbursed through Avota's Payroll directly to you.

What are covered expenses, and will they be counted toward the annual cap limit of $5,250?

Covered expenses (listed below) will be counted toward the annual cap limit based on the course end date. Covered applicable fees include:

Registration fees
Lab, equipment, or test fees
Prior learning assessment fees
CLEP exam fees (after credit given)
Distance learning fees that apply to the course
Application fees (for accepted institution)
Testing fees
Graduation Fees
